Chatsworth Academy is now part of The Sovereign Trust
Pupils are admitted to Chatsworth High School and Community College following a period of assessment which leads to the provision of an Education, Heath and Care Plan. Some pupils on roll have not yet had their statements of Special Educational Needs (SEN) converted into an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). In the vast majority of cases, pupils need to have an EHCP or a statement of SEN to be on roll.
The children who attend Chatsworth High School and Community College have a wide range of learning needs including severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex learning difficulties associated with Autistic Spectrum conditions and speech and language difficulties, sensory impairment, complex medical needs and varying degrees of social emotional and mental health needs associated with their primary SEND. In a few extremely exceptional cases, pupils can be admitted without an EHCP or a statement of SEN in order for their needs to be assessed. This is a very rare occurrence.
All admissions are made through a series of Panels managed by the Special Educational Needs Team and no admission can be made into Chatsworth High School and Community College without the agreement of and co-ordination by this Team on behalf of Salford Local Authority.
